Last weekend a friend and I headed to San Diego for some adventures. It was my first time in Cali—really! It definitely won’t be my last, however. It was absolutely beautiful, and there was so much culture to take in. Here are some photos from our first day. It was funny because Micaela and I were talking about how bad of travelers we were—we’d hardly planned anything and got lost all the time—yet we just stumbled upon La Jolla Cove Beach, and it ended up making for the perrrfect evening. So we started by playing with the seals (actually they’ll bite you if you try to do that), and then we walked around a bit and hit up a Korean restaurant.
Stay tuned for more photos from the trip!

Love the tiny people shot! How did you do that?
It's actually a Photoshop effect I use sometimes called "iris blur," though you can also achieve the same kind of effect with a tilt-shift lens (or apparently by taking the lens off and holding it near the camera slightly at an angle.) But I think Photoshop is easiest 🙂
I found your blog through Gravitate online. I found them because I'm working with you(?) on a blog post about keeping safe in college. I'm super excited I found it!
I went to La Jolla beach a couple years ago. I wish we would have seen seals though. That would have been awesome.
Oh, wonderful to work with you, Jenny! Yep, I am a writer with Gravitate 😉 Ah, isn't that place just the best?? The seals were the sweetest surprise ever 🙂
