Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Today I thought I’d share my red velvet cake recipe—one I’m finally happy with after I-can’t-even-remember-how-many attempts. It rises well and has a nice density to it without being too dense. And as always, this cake recipe works for both cake and cupcakes. This pairs traditionally with cream cheese frosting, by the way. Red Velvet Cake or Cupcakes Makes 14–15 cupcakes or just over enough batter for one 9″ round cake pan. Remember that you need…

We simply dropped the ‘s after a while. Anyhow, German Chocolate Cake is really…

I’m In A Magazine (Yay!)

January 27, 2014

Heh, I thought I should mention this before the magazine stops going on sale this Thursday. Now, don’t get too excited. I’m not getting featured in a magazine or anything. But an awesomely talented friend of mine named Brittany did get featured, and I happened to be a part of the photo shoot that they shared in the feature. Yay, how fun! Since this doesn’t happen to me very often, I thought I’d share it 🙂 These photos, by the…

My Kindergarten Teacher Ruled.

January 24, 2014

Not too long ago I was going through some of my old things and found a journal from when I was in kindergarten. We basically wrote an entry every few days—and by “wrote” I mean we drew a picture and then attempted to write a sentence to go with it by scribbling some letters. Then our teacher came by and asked us what we’d drawn, adding a caption so that we could go back and read it later. Anyhow, I…
